‘Empowering diverse talent for a more inclusive aviation industry’

At Aviation in Reach, our mission is to empower talented individuals from less represented demographics who aspire to work in the aviation industry to reach their career goals through the provision of mentoring and, in doing so, shaping the industry to benefit from and better reflect all of society.

The civil and military aviation industries have long been limited in their diversity levels. With so much evidence regarding the benefits of diversity in the workplace, this needs to change.

Aviation in Reach offer free, one to one, mentoring for individuals aged 18+ from less represented demographics who aspire to be Pilots, Air Traffic Controllers, Engineers or Loadmasters in either the civil or military aviation industry. Our mentors are all experienced professionals with a passion for diversity.

Our mentees really benefit from our support. As a recent mentee told us, “AiR offered me opportunities I couldn't quite comprehend […] It allowed me to break down my goals into steps I could easily achieve and gave me the confidence to overcome the barriers that used to hold me back, and has set me up for life.”

Our trustee board, comprising a number of industry leaders, are all focused on changing the industry we love for the better.
